Nepalese Medal Parade Ceremony

In a colorful parade mounted by the Nepalese battalion and attended by civilian and military authorities, MINURCAT force commander, Major-general El Hadji Mouhamadou Kandji, presented medals to 567 Nepalese soldiers and one staff officer from Pakistan, after completing a six-month of service in the force.
The Nepalese contingent has taken control of the Southern Sector, following the departure of the Irish and the Finnish contingents. Its tasks include guarding UN compounds in Bahai, Hadjer Hadid, Abdi, Iriba and Koukou Angarana.
Presenting the awards, The Force-Commander, Gen. Kadji, said he was pleased by the work and dedication of the battalion and expected the good work to continue.
