N'Djamena, 24 Frebruary 2010 - Mr. Alain Le Roy, Under-Secretary-General (USG) for Peacekeeping Operations, arrived in Chad on a five-day mission late in the evening of Wednesday, 24 February 2010. Mr. Le Roy arrived on board a commercial flight with a delegation of five people. He was met by a group of top MINURCAT officials led by the Deputy Special Representative of the Secretary-General, Ms. Rima Salah.

On Thursday, the USG paid a courtesy visit to the French Ambassador, and was later briefed by the Special Representative of the Secretary-General (SRSG), Mr. Victor Angelo. At mid-day, Mr. Le Roy's delegation, along with the SRSG and the DSRSG met with the Prime Minister of Chad and President Idriss Deby's Special Representative to MINURCAT. More meetings were scheduled with Chadian authorities and MINURCAT staff during the rest of the afternoon.
