N'Djamena, 30 January 2009 – In a bid to protect and maintain the civilian and humanitarian character of refugee camps, the Détachement Intégré de Sécurité (DIS) and the United Nations' Police conducted a joint weapons search operation in the Am Nabak refugee camp in northeastern Chad. The search operation seized forbidden equipment including fatigues, chargers and ammunition. This is the first such operation to be conducted by the DIS, a Chadian security force recently deployed in eastern Chad. read more in PDF format
