Abeche, 28 October 2009 – The government of Chad, represented by its Minister for Human Rights, Mr. Abderamane Djasnabaille, organized a two-day regional forum on human rights, from 27 to 28 October, in Abeche. MINURCAT provided support for the organization of the event. The regional forum convenes various stakeholders from the eastern parts of the country for discussions on the current challenges as well as ways and means of improving the human rights situation. The regional forums will lead up to a National Forum to be held from 23 to 25 November in the capital Ndjamena. <>
