  • 09 Feb 2010 - N'Djamena, February 5, 2010 -- On Friday 05 February 2010, the United Nations Mission in the Central African Republic and Chad (MINURCAT) organized a solemn ceremony to mark the end of training for the 5th class of officers and agents of the Détachement Integré de Sécurité (DIS), in cooperation with the Coordination Nationale d'Appui au déploiement de la Force Internationale à l'Est du Tchad (CONAFIT).
  • 19 Nov 2009 - Abeche, 19 November 2009 – Cambodian troops arrived on 17 November 2009 in Abeche as part of MNURCAT, the UN Peacekeeping Mission mandated for eastern Chad and northeastern Central African Republic. >
  • 22 Oct 2009 - N'Djamena, 20 October 2009 – The President of the Foreign Affairs Committee and Special Representative of the President of the Russian Federation for Sudan, Mr. Margelov, visited the installations and leadership of the United Nations Mission in the Central African Republic and Chad (MINURCAT). Mr. Margelov was named in December 2008 to coordinate efforts by the Russian Federation to resolve the Darfur conflict.
  • 16 Oct 2009 - N'Djamena, 16 October 2009 – The Government of Chad, represented by the Minister of External Relations, Mr. Moussa Faki Mahamat, signed an agreement on the status of the United Nations Mission in the Central African Republic and Chad (MINURCAT). The Special Representative of the Secretary General in Chad, Mr. Victor Angelo, who signed on behalf of the organization, hailed the agreement as further evidence of the sound cooperation between the two entities.
  • 02 Jul 2009 - Adre, 30 June 2009 – Two communities in Adre, eastern Chad, have agreed to reconcile and live peacefully together. As part of an Intercommunity Dialogue, launched last month, the Adre local authorities and MINURCAT, the UN mission in Chad and the Central African Republic, have brought the Zaghawa and Massalit communities together on 30 June to formalize the end to a long-standing feud between them.
  • 10 Apr 2009 - N'Djamena, 8 April 2009 – MINURCAT witnessed with dismay, the recent tragic events of 7 April at the Abeche military camp in eastern Chad. A French soldier of the EUFOR military operation killed two of his cohorts as well as a Togolese UN peacekeeper for reasons yet to be determined.

  • 17 Oct 2008 - N'Djamena, 7 October 2008 – The First Lady of the Republic of Chad, Mrs. Hinda Deby Itno, took part on 6 October 2008 in the opening ceremony of a three-day workshop organized by the United Nations Mission in Central African Republic and Chad (MINURCAT) with a focus on gender-based violence as experienced by refugees and Internally displaced persons (IDPs) in eastern Chad.
